Route 351 Paving Begins Next Week in Lawrence, Beaver Counties

Pittsburgh – PennDOT District 11 is announcing roadway improvement work on Route 351 in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County and Wayne Township, Lawrence County will begin Monday, July 31 weather permitting. Improvement work, including milling and paving, drainage upgrades, base and shoulder repairs, guide rail updates, pavement marking installation, and other various construction related activities, will occur on Route 351 between River Road in North Sewickley Township and 13th Street in Wayne Township. The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at their shelter in Ewing Park. Each year the Wolves Club hosts an appreciation dinner for their members, their wives and significant others who have volunteered at their three fundraisers during the year. Sixty four members attended the steak dinner prepared by their members Bob Delisio, Matt Wally and Chuck Houk. 2023 Moraine State Park Regatta Brings Free Recreation Opportunities

Portersville – The 24th annual Moraine State Park Regatta will return this August 5-6 on the shores of Lake Arthur’s South Shore (225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville, PA 16051). The festivities will span most of the shoreline and include both land and water activities. The Regatta is Saturday 10:00 am-10:00 pm, and Sunday 10:00 am-6:00 pm. Ellwood City Knocked Off In 72nd Annual Little League Tournament

After stringing together two victories to begin their tournament run, Ellwood City ran into some trouble over the weekend in the 72nd Annual Ellwood City Little League Tournament, first falling to defending tournament champion Central Valley 12-3 on Saturday and then to Neshannock on Sunday to eliminate the team from the tournament. Central Valley plays Neshannock Monday evening in the tournament championship game. Carpenter’s Project Completes 52 Projects On 35 Homes

The Carpenter’s Project completed its 22 year of service last week with a long list of improvements to homes around the area. New Artificial Shrubs Placed In Lawrence Avenue Planters

The Borough of Ellwood City and the Ellwood City Revitalization have combined efforts to bring some new beautification to downtown. In June, the Borough of Ellwood City received a $2,000.00 2023 National Pennsylvania Day Mini Grant that was used to assist with costs to replace planter boxes along Lawrence Avenue. Final 2023 Beautification Award Winner Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the final winner of 2023 Beautification Award to Sue Blythe on Joffre Street. “Sue’s hard work has not gone unnoticed, her yard looks amazing,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Sue was awarded with a yard sign to display and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. This concludes the awards for the 2023 season.
