Ellwood City Borough Council approved requests by Fifth and Spring, LLC in regards to a Dunkin’ fast food restaurant at the intersection of Fifth Street and Spring Avenue. Council unanimously approved the 2,060 square foot facility as well as a drive thru contingent on the following conditions: No egress permitted onto Fifth Street from the Dunkin’ parking lot; right hand and left-hand turn from the drive thru lane onto Fifth Street; And moving a curbside pickup spot to the middle of the parking lot. On a muggy, gray Western Pennsylvania afternoon early in May the Riverside Girls Track & Field Team finished in third place in the 2023 WPIAL Class 2A Track & Field quarterfinals. VIDEO: Route 18 Reopens After Train Derailment In New Castle

Pittsburgh – PennDOT District 11 has announced a portion of Route 18 has reopened after a closure to traffic due to an overnight train derailment in the City of New Castle on Thursday, May 11th. Nine Norfolk Southern train cars derailed near its intersection with Route 18 between Mt. Jackson Road (Route 108) and Blanchard Street.  PennDOT personnel were on scene to assess the condition of the roadway once the rail cars are removed.
