The annual Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade took place Monday morning as our community gathered downtown Ellwood City to enjoy the parade and to honor local Veterans of the past and present. A ceremony honoring veterans was held at Legion Park directly after the parade followed by free Hot Dogs provided by Dave’s Hometown Shop ‘n Save. The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2023 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 1st, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park. Lincoln High School is graduating 89 students with nine students receiving high honors. Students will follow 2022-23 classes for the last time on Wednesday. BURGLARY: Katyln Kelosky, 34, of Ellwood City, is charged with Burglary and Criminal Trespassing after an incident on May 12th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:52 p.m., police were dispatched to a Dollar General, at Woodside Avenue, Wayne Township for a reported theft. Police made contact with the store manager who related that Kelosky had been entering the store when no one should be present and taking money from the safe. ELLWOOD today announced the recipients of the group’s 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship awards. Three graduating seniors were each awarded $10,000 scholarships as part of the program. The Industrial Maintenance Scholarship program is a unique opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school, college or university following graduation.
