The Ellwood Federal/ESB Bank Employee Reunion has been planned! Mark your calendars and tell anyone you know that was or is a current employee. Look forward to seeing old friends again, refreshments, a catered buffet dinner and cash bar. Holy Name Society Hosts Picnic & New Member Drive

ELLPORT – At their annual family picnic on August 16th at the Robert E. Rogers Memorial Park’s main shelter in Ellport, the Holy Name Society members and guests, gathered to celebrate friendship, fellowship and to welcome new members to the Society. Lincoln High School Class of 1968 To Hold 55th Reunion

When the members of the Lincoln High School Class of 1968 received their diplomas, The Jackson 5’s, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin were at the top of the music charts. Getting the Class of 1968 back together for its 55th reunion is going to be great fun; catching-up with friends, do some reminiscing and re-telling some fond stories of way back when, said one of the organizers of the event. Hack Wilson Marker Dedicated

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society hosted a lively ceremony to dedicate the new Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission roadside marker on Woodside Avenue (State Route 65) honoring Ellwood City-born Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Lewis Robert “Hack” Wilson on Friday August 25, 2023 at the Lincoln High School Baseball Field in Ewing Park. PHOTOS – Panther Night 2023

Riverside School District held its annual Panther Night Thursday evening at Riverside Memorial Stadium. The program included the introduction of the Panthers fall sports programs and the Riverside marching band. The Panthers football team will have its first home game on Friday, September 1st versus South Side at Riverside Memorial Stadium.  The Panthers also host Ellwood City in the annual Riv-Ell game scheduled for Friday, October 27th. Brown Says Penalties Should be Imposed for Falsely Reporting Threats, Emergencies Toward Schools

HARRISBURG – Legislation that would create felony criminal penalties for falsely reporting emergency threats directed toward any educational facility in the Commonwealth has been introduced by Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence). “It is not acceptable to manipulate our law enforcement system to cause chaos, frighten students, terrorize families and put many people in harm’s way,” said Brown. Brown noted that shortly before the Easter holiday this year, and following a tragic school shooting in Nashville, TN, a person terrorized communities in our region including New Castle High School, with a series of false reports to law enforcement of active school shootings….

Ellwood City Wolverines 2023 Fall Sports Tickets Now Available

Tickets for the Ellwood City Wolverines Fall Sport Season will be sold on-line at www.gofan.co or the GoFan app. Ellwood City will be slowly making the change to digital ticketing for all sports. There will be no tickets sold at the school at this time according to the district. There will be a limited amount of Adult tickets, $5.00, that can be purchased at the gate for each home game this season. Senior Citizen tickets will still be sold at the gate for $1.00. There will be no Student Tickets sold at the school or at the gate this season….
