2018 Lincoln High School Prom “Written in the Stars”

The 2018 Lincoln High School Prom “Written in the Stars” will be held on Friday May 4th, 2018 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, New Castle Pa. The annual Lincoln High School promenade will begin at 5:30. Doors open at 5:00 and tickets can be purchased at the door or in the High School Office. Ticket’s for this years promenade are $3.00 a piece and seating is first come first serve. Following the Promenade students will enjoy dinner and dancing at Scottish Rite Cathedral from 6:00 – 11:00 before returning to the SOI in Ellwood City for the traditional After Prom event….


House Approves Bernstine Bill to Improve Access to Care in Mental Health Emergency

HARRISBURG – Marking May as Mental Health Awareness Month, the state House of Representatives today voted unanimously to approve legislation, authored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence), to remove bureaucratic barriers to behavioral health services for individuals seeking immediate treatment. Panthers, Danny Fox Shut Out New Brighton

Danny Fox had all the right stuff on Tuesday for the Riverside Panthers, allowing zero runs and besting New Brighton by a score of 10-0 Riverside tallied five runs in the third inning. Drew Speicher, Brian MacMurdo, Ty Thellman, and Fox each had RBIs in the big inning. Ellwood City Junior High Softball Team Runs Undefeated Streak to 7 Games

7 was the number of the day as the Lady Wolverines raised their record to 7-0 with a 7-0 victory over Laurel on the Spartan’s home turf. EC’s Angie Nardone and Laurel’s Grace Kissick were locked in a pitcher’s duel that saw the game scoreless until the top of the fourth with each team managing to get just 1 base runner. Senators Urge Governor to Act to Eliminate Summer Gas Mandate

Town Hall Meeting to Discuss House Bill 2030

An informational “Save Our Town” meeting has been planned for Thursday May 3, beginning at 6:30pm at the Ellwood City Municipal Building Auditorium. A recent passage in Harrisburg of House Bill 2030 (HB 2030) specifically targeting Ellwood City Borough has raised serious concerns on the future of the town. Ellwood City for years has transferred money from the electric fund to balance the Borough’s general fund budget. PHOTOS: Panthers Run Away From Wolverines Late In 8-2 Victory

Riverside used late scoring outbursts to help easily dispatched Ellwood City 8-2 on Monday afternoon at Sanders Field in Ewing Park. The visiting Panthers (11-1 overall) put up four runs in the sixth and another four runs in the final frame after the Wolverines chipped into the lead. Riverside’s offense in the seventh came from singles by Drew Speicher, Ethan Ziegler, and Ben Hughes and a sac fly by Ty Thellman. Gunnar Boehm was the winning pitcher for Riverside. Two Ellwood City homers led to an eight run outburst in the second inning that propelled the Lady Wolverines past visiting Riverside 15-2 in varsity softball action.
