Borough To Collecting Unused Or Expired Medication

The Ellwood City Police Department is sponsoring the Got Drugs event for safe disposal of unused or expired medication on Saturday, October 27. Operation Safe Stop Highlights National School Bus Safety Week

On Wednesday, October 24, the 22nd annual Operation Safe Stop will be conducted in communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This event is apart of National School Bus Safety Week, which runs from Monday, October 22 to Friday, October 26. Operation Safe Stop is a public awareness and enforcement effort to educate the public that passing a stopped school bus, especially when children are loading or unloading, is both dangerous and illegal. BC3 Captures 4th WPCC Volleyball Crown, Morella Selected All-Conference

On Saturday, October 20 local college BC3 swept CCBC eye regional title to gain their 4th WPCC volleyball crown in a row. Emily Magusiak and Mackenzie Craig (Monaca, PA) had eight kills each and Emilee Beck 17 digs as the Butler County Community College volleyball team on Saturday won its fourth consecutive Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championship and 10th under Rob Snyder by sweeping the Community College of Beaver County 25-4, 25-9 and 25-18 in the best-of-5 finals. Ellwood City Varsity Girls Volleyball On To WPIAL Playoffs

The Lady Wolverines squad collected a birth in the WPIAL volleyball playoffs that begin this week.  Ellwood City will face a 6-6 Beth Center team in a play-in round of the WPIAL Playoffs Tuesday evening.  The match will take place at Our Lady of Sacred Heart at 6:30pm. Yellow Ribbon Girls Offering ‘Christmas Cards To The Troops’

The Yellow Ribbon Girls would like to ask everyone in our area to consider signing Christmas cards to be shipped around the world to the deployed troops.  Cards can be signed by families, businesses, churches, schools, clubs, groups and teams. The more names on each card the better.  It is a great way to show the troops far from home how many people back here are thinking about them. REC Wrestling Registration Information

On Thursday, October 25 from 6:00 p.m until 7:30 p.m, boys and girls from first grade up to sixth grade can come and sign up for the 2018-2019 REC Wrestling season.  This is the third and final date in a series of registrations dates held for the program. Sign ups will be held in the Lincoln High School Commons Area.  The REC Wrestling program fundamentals include safety, sportsmanship, fun and achievement. “Set goals. Have a plan. Work hard. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 month of age, toddlers, and preschoolers.  This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more.  Registration is requested.
