Bernstine’s New Butler Office Location Open for Business

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) announced today that his district office in Butler is open to ensure continuity of constituent services. The office is located at 790 Pittsburgh Road, Butler. Office hours will be Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the telephone number is 724-847-5291. Pre-Registration For 2023-24 Kindergarten At ECASD Now Available

Pre-registration for Kindergarten in the Ellwood City Area School District for the 2023-24 school year is now available. All prospective parents of ECASD kindergarten students are asked to complete the following 2023-24 form if planning to enroll a child in kindergarten next fall. The purpose of this form is collect information on students who will be attending kindergarten next fall for the first time. PA American Water Launches Water Line Service Inventory Project

Pennsylvania American Water needs your help to identify the material used for your water service line. Starting this week, customers whose service line material is unknown to Pennsylvania American Water will be sent a postcard with information on how to participate in this vital identification effort. Customers can respond on the website featured on the postcard or by calling the number provided directly to the company’s project management firm, Greeley and Hansen. ECPD Provides Details On Homicide Investigation

In a press release made available the Ellwood City Police Department Tuesday morning, the ECPD provides details on the Monday afternoon shooting that left one person dead and one in critical condition. According to the release, and at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Monday, officers of the Ellwood City Police Department were dispatched to a shots fired call at 216 First Street. As Officers set up a perimeter around the apartment building they heard four to five gun shots. Officers ordered the shooter from the residence shortly thereafter via loud speaker. Lady Wolverines Complete Sweep Of Rival Panthers

Sophomore Caitlin Kreitzer scored a career high 18 points to lead the Lady Wolverines to a 52-33 road victory over Riverside on Monday evening. The victory capped a season sweep in the Riv-Ell series as Ellwood City earned a home victory earlier in January. On Monday, Kreitzer, who connected on two 3-pointers, was among three Wolverines in double figures. One Dead, One Injured In Monday Shooting

According to published reports, one woman is dead and another person is left in critical condition after a shooting late Monday afternoon in Ellwood City. The incident happened just after 5:00 p.m. near the 200 block of First Street, near its intersection with Fountain Avenue. After a strong police presence and shut downs of nearby roadways, police have a person in custody. Ellwood City Police were assisted by nearby and neighboring police departments to locate the suspect who was later apprehended. Interested in trying Soccer? The Ellwood City Soccer Boosters are hosting a FREE clinic for Ellwood City and Shenango students (including Cyber, Charter and Lincoln Park) currently in 8th-11th grade on Sunday, February 26, 2023. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Jason Mulig, 47, of Ellwood City is charged with Criminal Mischief and Public Drunkeness after an incident on November 6, 2022. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:27 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the area of First Street, near Keystone Bar, due to Mulig jumping onto a victim’s car and damaging the hood. Upon reviewing surveillance, it showed Mulig walking from across Fountain Avenue and jumping onto the hood of the vehicle causing $2,388.13 in damage and then finished what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage and threw it into the side of the building….

District Judge Cartwright Running For Re-Election

District Judge Jerry G. Cartwright has announced his candidacy for re-election to his position in District 53-3-01 in Ellwood City. Cartwright is in his 18th year in the judgeship when his 3rd term expires at the end of 2023. He intends to cross-file on the Democrat and Republican ballots. During his tenure, Cartwright was appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to the Minor Courts Rules Committee. The committee makes recommendations to the Court to establish standards of practice for the over 500 Magisterial District Courts in Pennsylvania.
