HOMECOMING: Panthers Secure Playoff Spot With Friday Night Victory

For the Riverside Panthers, Friday night’s 28-26 victory over North Catholic was twice as nice as it secured second place in the Midwestern Athletic Conference and a home WPIAL Class 2A playoff berth as well as cemented a tone of revenge for last year’s blowout loss to the Trojans. PHOTOS: 2016 Ellwood City Pie Festival (indoors!)

Due to pending thunderstorms and wet weather forecasted to enter the area Thursday evening, the annual Pie Festival was moved indoors to the Lincoln High School large gymnasium.  The change was announced by the school early Thursday afternoon and later reported confirmed on Twitter, first by the Lincoln Blue Band account (@LHSBlueBand). The event is normally held at Helling Stadium, but precautions were taken by moving the event indoors this year. Lincoln High School Blue Band members and Ellwood City fall sport team members were announced.
