August J. “Jim” Morella, 80, of Ellport passed away on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at the Edison Manor in New Castle. August was born in Ellwood City on February 9, 1942 to the late August and Pauline A. (Ferrucci) Morella. He had graduated from Lincoln High School. Jim worked at the Connoquenessing Country Club, Holiday Inn, and Morella’s Diner which was located in Ellport as a food manager. He enjoyed cooking and drag races. He is survived his son, Stephen Beyers of Ellport, and grandson, Garrett Beyers. He was preceded min death by his parents and his brother, John Morella….

Mrs. Isabella Costa, 101, of Wayne Township passed away on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at Quality of Life in New Castle. Mrs. Costa was born on July 25th, 1921 in Perry Twp. to the late Frank and Lizana (Innocent) D’Ambrosia, Sr.. She had worked at the U.S. Steel Plant in Ellwood City during World War II. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. Mrs. Marjorie L. Hendrickson, 81, of Beaver Falls passed away on Friday, April 15th, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Hendrickson was born on August 26th, 1940 in Ellwood City to the late Karl and Grace (Irwin) Ketterer. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1958. Mr. John Herbert Stephens, 83, of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, April 8th, 2022 at the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.. Mr. Stephens was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 27th, 1938 to the late Rose Stephens. John served with the Army National Guard from February 11th, 1957 until his discharge on January 14th, 1958 with the Battery A, 107th Field Artillery Battalion earning the rank of Private E-2.
