Melvin “Mel” Straley, 88, of Wampum PA passed away at Heritage Valley Medical Center on Friday, June 21st, 2024. Mel was born, raised and lived in Wampum PA. He was born on November 28th, 1935 to the late Robert Ellis and Josephine Straley and was one of 11 children. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City PA and went on to get his undergraduate degree from Geneva College. Jeanne Sokol, 81, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17th, 2024 at her residence. Jeanne was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Gib) Cavallaro born in Ellwood City on May 25th, 1943. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1961 and St. Elias Romanian Orthodox Church. She had lived in Detroit, MI for 15 years and moved back to Ellwood City in 1977. Victoria was born in Ellwood City on April 5th, 1949 to the late Felix and Gloria (Piccolo) Carrozza. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967 and attended Edinboro State College. She was a longtime dedicated employee at Family Services of Western PA/Northco where she helped persons with disabilities overcome barriers and find meaningful work. It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Ann Clark announce her passing on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the age of 73 years. She was at home in Magnolia, TX with her beloved husband Michael. Kathy was born on June 30, 1950 in Ellwood City, PA. to Eugene Leroy and Mary Flanagan Stiefel. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1968. Dr. DiBiagio was born on March 11th, 1928 in Houtzdale, PA to the late Romeo and Josephine (Gatti) DiBiagio.
