Grace Martha Scarpitti, 97, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 of natural causes. She was born May 30, 1919, raised in Ellwood City, and lived in her home at 1204 Beaver Avenue from the age of 8 until moving to Shenango Presbyterian Care in New Wilmington, Pa in 2008 where she received the finest care. She worked in various mills and factories in Ellwood City from the age of 15, when she left school during the Great depression to help support her family, until retiring from the Ellwood City Knitting Mill.
