Thomas L. Poholsky, 75, of Ellwood City passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler. Born April 28, 1945 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Albert W. and Joan M. Lloyd Poholsky. Thomas was a graduate of Lincoln High School and also attended Penn State University. He was a Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Hollister in the Subic Bay during the Vietnam War. He was an employee at the B&W for many years. Born September 11, 1961 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Sarah Curry Hardy with whom she resided, and the late William Hardy Sr. Earla was a member of Victory Christian Center. Born April 19, 1936 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James and Jeanne Remley Cooper. She was married to Robert C. Marshall who passed on September 22, 2004. Sue was a 1954 graduate of Shenango High School and a 1957 graduate of Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Paul F. “Fred” Kosior, 84, of Chewton passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a short illness. Born July 20, 1936 in Chewton, he was the son of the late Edward and Sophie Modliszewski Kosior. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Russell Trucking for over 30 years. Fred was a member of the former St. Monica’s in Wampum and a current member of Holy Redeemer. He was a member and past president of the Chewton P.N.A. George G. Russell Sr., 90, of New Galilee, passed on Tuesday January 12, 2021 under the gentle care of the Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center. George was the patriarch of a large family, a pillar in the church and community, and well loved and respected by many. Born March 9, 1946 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Ken and Dorothy Parker McDowell. Judy was a project manager for Lockheed Martin in California for over 20 years. Gerald J. “Jerry” Matus, 81, of Wampum, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence. Born June 2, 1939 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Alferetta “Freddie” Aloe Matus. Jerry was the owner and operator of Matus Service Center and Auto Sales in Wampum.
