Joan E. Markey, 83, of Rochester, formerly of Patterson Township passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Rochester Manor following a lengthy illness. Born January 25, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Edna (Schmidt) Young. She was married to the late James Ewing Markey who died January 24, 2012. Joan was a member of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Patterson Twp. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club of Beaver Valley. James G. Wright, 77, of North Sewickley Township passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born June 6, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Sharp B. and Frances “Birdy” (Knight) Wright. Jim was a co-owner of Wright’s Meat Packing in Fombell where he partnered with his brother since 1955. James was an avid coon hunter and loved to field trail his dogs. Carter J. Huzinec, 20, of Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following complications of injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Carter was known for being the fun, playful, silly, kind hearted, helpful, hard working friend to all and was always able to put a smile on everyones face. He was a laborer at Universal Refractories in Wampum. He formerly worked at T & M Hardware. Carter graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 2018. Born December 22, 1947 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Walter I Guy Jr. and Helen Shultz Guy of West Pittsburg. He was married to Mary Jo “Pudgy” Kromka Guy for 18 years, she survives. Joel W. Mariacher Sr., 81, of New Beaver Boro passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a brief illness. Born December 23, 1938 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John “Jack” and Josephine (Walzer) Mariacher. Joel graduated from Shenango High School in 1957. Mary DeMark Allgood, 103, of New Middletown, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. Born September 2, 1916 in Wampum, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Aiello) DeMark. She was married to John E. Allgood MD for 31 years when he died in 1973. Christine Marie (Vith) Kalac, 63, formally of McKees Rocks, PA passed away peacefully on May 21st 2020 at home in Darlington, PA. Born May 27th 1956, in McKees Rocks, PA. She joined the US Navy in 1979 and served as one of the first female crew members aboard a US Navy ship the USS Point Loma (AGDS-2). After leaving the navy to start a family she moved to Washington state and opened a very successful pet store. Cynthia Aquino Nordi, of Franklin Park, Pa passed away on May 16, 2020 of complications from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh to Alfred D. and E. Joan (Snyder) Aquino on August 13, 1952.
