Margaret McElwain, 88, of Fombell passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her residence following a brief illness. Born October 27, 1931 in Fombell, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Oliver and Eva (Steffler) Nye. She was married to Paul McElwain who passed away October 20, 2015. Margaret was raised doing chores on the Nye family farm. A hard worker, Margaret worked at many different jobs, including cooking at the Salvation Army (Camp Allegheny), Riverside School Cafeteria, and at the snack bar at Freeway Lanes. Helen McElwain, beloved wife of the late Harold L. McElwain passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Helen was born on June 14, 1921 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Francis J. and Gertrude Cahill Cavanaugh. Helen and Harold met while he was stationed in Philadelphia during WWII. Margaret “Peggy” Anne Karner of Wampum passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 86. Born September 23, 1933 to John and Margaret Karner, she lived most of her life in Wampum, residing most recently at Carriage Manor in New Castle. Gustave “Hutch” Tetmire, 70, of Ellwood City, Wayne Twp, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Butler Memorial Hospital, although in ill health, death was unexpected.
