LHS Class of ’55 Celebrates 67th Reunion

The Lincoln High School Class of 1955 celebrated their 67th Reunion on Friday, July 1st at the Saxons Club. Name tags and programs were given to the graduates by the Committee as they entered the building and the program began with a saocial hour with conversation and friendships renewed. An invocation was presented by Guy Calabro followed by  a delicious dinner buffet catered by Nicos Restaurant. The program began with Joe Cioffi, Master of Ceremonies, asking for a moment of silence in memoriam of the 127 classmates who are deceased. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

BURGLARY: A 37-year-old man has been charged with burglary after an incident on June 28th in Wampum. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:53 a.m., police were dispatched to Wampum Park Housing complex for reports of burglary. Video surveillance shows Robert Grim arriving at the complex at approximately 2:03 a.m. and entering through a window located at the rear. A victim stated she woke up and discovered many things inside her apartment missing, namely her Xanax prescription, cash, and a debit card. LHS Class of ’54 Holds “Make-Up” Reunions

The Lincoln High School Class of 1954 held a “66th, 67th and 68th COVIDs Make-Up Reunions” earlier this month. The class got together on Friday, July 1st at Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ according to Clemmy Sirimarco. John and Pat Tino, Ilene Gardner and Pudue LaCava led a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m. as attendees entered the reunion. The 4th beautification award was presented by Mayor Anthony Court to Eileen McKelvey of 227 Crescent Avenue. “Congratulations, Eileen! You did a great job! It looks beautiful!” said Mayor Court in a statement. She was presented with a yard sign and a gift certificate from a local restaurant. Two more awards will be presented this year. PHOTOS: Ellwood City Annual Arts, Crafts, Foods & Entertainment Festival Returns!

After a two year hiatus, the annual Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Foods & Entertainment Festival returned to Ewing Park over the holiday weekend. Thousands of visitors flocked to the grounds to enjoy local food, crafts, and plenty of entertainment. Fireworks were displayed Sunday night. A juried art show returned, while an official festival mascot was named – L Woodie – and three new members were inducted into the festival hall of fame.

POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: According to a police report, two unknown white males proceeded to operate a Farmall tractor with a brush hog attachment and mow approximately 1,000 feet of wooded area along private property lines at Del-Mar Golf Course in Wayne Township. The incident was reported to have taken place between the times of June 25th at midnight and June 26th at 9:53 a.m. While police were on scene, trail cameras were reviewed along with a neighbor canvassed none of which yielded with identifying the potential suspects.
