Avonworth Dethrones Riverside In Epic WPIAL Championship

Avonworth dethroned the defending Class 3A champion Panthers Tuesday afternoon in extra innings at Wild Things Park in Washington, PA. The 7-seeded Antelopes scratched out a run in the top of the 14th inning and held on for the historic 4-3 victory. The WPIAL Championship game was the longest ever recorded at Wild Things Park and the longest game since 1940. The marathon game lasted over four hours. LHS Class Of 1989 Gathering For Informal Class Reunion

It has been 35 years! The Lincoln High School Class of 1989 will be getting together for an informal class reunion later this month. Classmates will gather starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th at The Time Brew Pub located at 600 Mount Vernon Drive. Mayor Court Announces 1st 2024 Beautification Award Winner

Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 1st Beautification Award winner for 2024. Congratulations to Tim and Becky Marshall on 107 Glen Avenue! “It did not go unnoticed the hard work that was put into their beautiful yard,” said Court in an emailed statement. Tim and Becky was presented with a gift certificate to a local restaurant and a yard sign to display. CCBC Announces President’s And Dean’s List For Spring 2024 Semester

Monaca  – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 25 names of full-time and part-time Lawrence County students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the spring 2024 semester. Nine Local Athletes Competing In PIAA Track & Field Championships

The relay team of Nick Wise, Bradley Custer, Drew Steffler, and Colten Crizer will be four of the six Ellwood City athletes competing in the PIAA Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at the Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA. The 4×800 Meter relay team will be joined by WPIAL 300m hurdle champion Nick Franitti and female high jumper Delaney Sturgeon. Memorial Service Planned For ‘Skip’ Haswell, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will take place for Lloyd E. ‘Skip’ Haswell Jr. on Flag Day, Friday, June 14th, 2024 The celebration will take place at the Tatalovich Funeral Home, located at 3475 Broadhead Rd, Monaca, PA. The celebration will take place from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with Military Services to be held at 3:00 p.m at the funeral home. Haswell, Jr., passed away at the age of 79 on March 4th. Skip was born in Ellwood City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964.


Hare Leads Panthers Past South Allegheny, Advancing to WPIAL Championship

The Panthers are one step closer to repeating, thanks in large part to Zach Hare. The 6’3″ junior struck out 11 batters across six scoreless innings to lead Riverside past South Allegheny 2-0 on Tuesday in the WPIAL Class 3A semifinals.  The top-seeded Panthers (16-1 Overall) advance to the WPIAL Class 3A Championship game against #7 seed Avonworth who defeated #14 Burrell 2-1 in 8 innings on Tuesday at North Allegheny. Little Miss Firecracker Pageant Set To Take Stage

Folino Stage is about to shine again with a lot of sparkle and spunk as 17 local ladies take the stage for the 7th annual Little Miss Firecracker Pageant.
