Yesterday, House Bill 2030, which modifies the Ellwood City borough electric department, passed in a 106-89 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, will now pass to the state senate. The bill will prevent the borough from transferring funds from the electric department to the General Fund and includes additional provisions for consumer protection. The bill’s language limits its impact to boroughs providing electric to more than one county. Ida J. Ionellie, 80 of Ellwood City passed away at UPMC Presbyterian on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Born in Ellwood City on June 11, 1938, Ida was the daughter of the late John R. and Antonella Morella Pratt. Ida is survived by her husband, Joseph Ionellie, whom she married on June 24, 1967. Ida owned and operated Ida’s Luncheonette in Ellwood in the late 60’s and early 70’s.   She also had worked at Folino’s Pharmacy and Rite Aid. Ida was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. She had coached Little Angles Softball in Ellwood and served on the reunion committee…
