The political-sign war rages on with many Ellwood residents who continue to report that their political signs are being stolen and sometimes even replaced with other political signs- and some perpetrators are getting creative with their schemes. We brought to you a story about a woman who was lured to a fake democratic event just so someone could have the opportunity to replace her “Hillary for President” sign with a Donald Trump sign.

According to a recent police report on October 8, a woman who lives on Spring Avenue called the police station to report that three unknown males ventured into her yard and stole her three “Donald Trump for President” signs. A few days later the signs were returned, however the reason they were stolen in the first place remains a mystery.

Woman Pays for Items with Counterfeit $10 Bills

According to the police report, on October 8, a worker from Pete’s Uptown Beer and Beverage called to report that he believed a woman who had just purchased tobacco products and a liter of Diet Coke paid for her items with counterfeit money. After the woman left the store the worker examined the money and notice there was Chinese lettering on the front and back of the bills as well as an identical serial numbers. Video surveillance was used to identify the woman who admitted to paying for items with the money and she stated her husband had found the money while he was working. The case is under further investigation.

19 Year Old Arrested for Assaulting Mother

Updated 10/13/16 at 11:45a.m.- According to the police report, on October 6, officers responded to a domestic dispute call after a woman claimed her son, 19 year old Austin Miller, had assaulted her. According to the mother her and her son had gotten into a verbal disagreement after she had asked him to leave and find another place to live and when her son responded to her wishes by calling her a “stupid b-” and slamming her on the ground. He supposedly was punching her repeatedly in the back of the head and choking her. Her other three children managed to get Miller away from his mother long enough for her to escape and run outside. He followed her outside, damaged her car, and slammed her head into a utility pole and again started choking her. The victim was visibly abused and went to the hospital for a brain scan to make sure she didn’t suffer any brain damage or hemorrhaging due to the event. Miller is facing charges of simple assault and harassment.

Man Threatens to Kill Dogs if He Can’t Take Them to New Apartment

According to the police report, on October 11, officers were called to a household after a mother reported that her son was threatening to kill their $800.00 Siberian Huskies because their landlord increased rent and they are going to be moving to a new apartment that does not allow dogs. Apparently the son said he would kill the dogs if he could not take them to the new apartment. The involved parties agreed to calm down and handle the situation appropriately.
