“This year’s highly successful bazaar was made possible by the hundreds of volunteers and the thousands of visitors that frequented this year’s event,” Father Mark Thomas said. “It’s fellowship. It’s a labor of love. It’s working together and bringing our congregation and community together for fellowship and fun.”
“Organizing a bazaar, no matter what size, takes a total team effort, an army of volunteers and months of planning”, said those who are on the bazaar steering committee coordinating this year’s Holy Redeemer Parish’s 50th Annual Bazaar.
Food is a must for any bazaar and again, this year, was the main attraction, drawing the largest crowds. The full menu offered daily, the dinner on the grounds on Friday and Saturday evening and the popular pepperoni puffs and pizza, spearheaded this year’s food sales, which accounted for about two-thirds of the over-all sales.
The weather can only be described as “unbelievably good” Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. While rain did somewhat reduce the attendance on Saturday, the 50th annual bazaar, nevertheless, was a huge success. The crowd remained on Saturday, despite the rain, anxiously anticipating the awarding of the two separate marquee Grand Cash Prize Drawings of $5,000.00 each. Awarded also were twenty-one gift basket raffles, weekly fifty-fifty, nightly fifty-fifty and worker’s prize drawings.
