Candace L. Freed, 66, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 18, 1960 in Beaver, she was the daughter of the late Richard B. and Shirley A. Keller McMurdy.
Candace graduated from Beaver Falls High School. Throughout her life, she worked many jobs in the health care field, with her favorite being her time spent as an office manager for a laser surgery clinic. Her most cherished roles were being a homemaker and caring for her aging parents. She loved baking and shared cookie trays and rolls with her friends and family during the holidays.
Survivors include two daughters, Katie (Logan) Beckinger and Christal Kyler; two sons, Mark and Matthew Freed; four grandchildren, Mason, Nathan, Aiden, and Kiera Beckinger; brother, Bruce (Janice) McMurdy, and niece, Heather McMurdy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald McMurdy and niece, Dawn McMurdy.
Per her wishes no services will be held.
