Ellwood City, Riverside Qualify Six Total Golfers For WPIAL Boys’ Golf Championships

Six local golfers qualify for the WPIAL Boys’ Golf Championships after the Section 5-2A qualifier at Sylvan Heights GC on Wednesday.

Ellwood City’s Anderson Weisz and Riverside’s Tony Chill each finished with rounds of 78 (+6) tied for fourth place, and lowest rounds for their respective teams.

Wolverine golfers Gino Biondi and Adam Jeffcoat each fired rounds of 79 (+7) tied for sixth place.

Ellwood City’s Cameron Keller and Riverside’s Tyler Holsinger finished at 81 (+9) to make the qualifying cut.

With a target score of 81 on the Par-72 course being +9 or lower, 12 total golfers from the Tri-County (Sec. 5-2A) qualified for the WPIAL Boys Golf Championships.

The tournament featured players from Ellwood City, Laurel, Mohawk, Neshannock, Riverside, Shenango, and Union.

Neshannock golfer Rocco Bauitti shot a low round of 71 (-1) on the afternoon. He had three birdies on the front nine and three birdies on the back nine.

The 2026 WPIAL Class 2A boys golf individual sectional qualifiers took place across various regional courses this month and each section sends qualified golfers to the WPIAL 2A Boys’ Golf Individual Championships set to begin next Tuesday at South Hills Country Club in Whitehall, PA.
