RECKLESS DRIVING:
Jase Barr, 24, of Ellwood City is charged with Reckless Driving after an incident occurring on May 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at at approximately 7:10 p.m., police were dispatched near Sixth St and Crescent Ave for a reported crash. The 66-year-old female victim stated she paused at a stop sign, saw no one coming, and drove into the intersection when she noticed Barr driving towards her at a high rate of speed without slowing. Surveillance video showed a silver Chevy SUV driven by Barr colliding with and causing the victim’s vehicle to spin. Barr drove away and did not return to the site of the accident according to the complaint. Two days later police initiated a traffic stop on a silver SUV with visible damage and spoke with Barr who admitted he hit and fled the scene
USE/POSSESSION:
Dianna Williams, 34, of New Wilmington, is charged with Use/Possession after a traffic stop occurring on June 1st at approximately 9:50 a.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Ellwood Road, Wayne Township, after they had observed Williams going 14MPH over the 45MPH speed limit. After Officers made contact with Williams, they had observed that her license was a PA ID only, and that she had an active warrant for her arrest out of the Lawrence County Sheriffs Office. Police had detained Williams and searched the vehicle finding a small amount of marijuana according to a criminal complaint.
SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Tucker Conklin, 34, of Ellwood City, is charged with counts including Simple Assault and Harrassment after an incident occurring on June 3rd. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:12 p.m., police were dispatched to Wampum Avenue due to a report of a disturbance at Barry’s Ice Cream. A 59-year-old female victim stated that she was attempting to park her vehicle in the back parking lot of parlor and had noticed Conklin’s vehicle blocking the roadway. She related that a verbal argument ensued due to the vehicle and that Conklin was standing on his property and yelling at the victim to mind her business. The victim then exited her car and stepped onto the sidewalk in front of the residence, to which then Conklin punched her. The victim fell to the ground and observed Conklin walk to his garage and grab a shovel which he then threatened her according to the complaint. Conklin is also wanted on an outstanding warrant on a charge of accidents involving unattended vehicle or property damage. He was also convicted on multiple burglary charges in 2014.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER:
Daniel Lagala, 38, of Ellwood City, is charged with possession with intent to deliver after an anonymous tip came in regarding Lagala. On June 3rd at approximately 1:45 p.m. Police were dispatched to Weisz’s Hazel Manor Bar and detained Lagala immediately. Police then searched Lagala and seized a total of $865.00, marijuana, and suspected cocaine according to a criminal complaint.
THEFT:
Jeffrey Seybert, 42, of Ellwood City is charged with Theft and Failure to Deliver Title after an incident reported on June 4th. Police contacted by a man who wanted to file a stolen vehicle report for a 2006 Chevy Impala being kept with the permission of a residence on Dutch Ridge Road. He related he was at a neighboring residence with his prior landlord, Seybert, and his vehicle was no longer on the property. A second call on June 5th was placed by an additional man filing a stolen vehicle report. Both victims advised the vehicles were stolen via a towing company from Seybert’s property on Dutch Ridge Rd. Officers spoke to Shaffer’s Towing who denied towing the vehicles. The two victims provided video surveillance of Shaffer’s Towing truck taking the vehicle, which Officers brought up to Shaffer’s towing the following day. The report relates that after police spoke with Shaffer’s towing, they explained that Seybert wanted to junk the vehicles and that they had paid Seybert $50.00 to remove the vehicles from his property. Police explained they could not remove any vehicle off of private property if the property owner does not have the titles for the vehicles being towed unless Police were contacted first. On June 9th at approximately 11:00a.m. Shaffer’s Towing returned the vehicles to Kies according to a criminal complaint.
DUI:
Earl King, 40, of Ellwood City is charged with DUI after a crash occurring on June 10th at approximately 8:10a.m. Police were advised that King was traveling on Wampum Rd and had veered off to the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck the embankment. He then continued until he struck the guide rail, causing the vehicle to flip roof side according to a public release report.
