SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Davie Crawley, 55, of New Castle is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident occurring on May 16th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:48 p.m., police were dispatched to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on Massachusetts Drive and were advised that a 36-year-old female victim had traveled to her mothers house to retrieve an item when she heard Crawley yelling. The victim had stepped in to separate Crawley and her mother, which escalated into a verbal argument the complaint relates. The victim stated from there the argument had become a physical assault where Crawley had punched her, tackled her to the ground, and was choking her. She related that she had also fought back in defense and police found her with red marks on her neck and marks on her forearm. Police interviewed Crawley, though he was unable to coherently answer due to his high level of intoxication. Crawley was placed under arrest and transported to the back of the cruiser according to the complaint.
SIMPLE ASSAULT:
Jeremy Streckeisen, 25, of Ellwood City is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident occurring on May 6th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:09 p.m., police were dispatched to Pershing Street for a report of a physical domestic incident. The 20-year-old victim advised that the argument occurred due to Streckeinsen wanting to go to New Castle, while she did not want to. Streckeinsen then lunged at the victim and choked her causing the victim to drop her infant child which caused the infant to hit her head according to the complaint. Streckeinsen fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim and the infant suffered minor injures according to the complaint.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS:
Daniel Stubbs, 52, of Ellwood City is charged with Burglary and Criminal Trespassing after an incident occurring on May 9th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 6:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of Stubbs entering the Inmetco building without authorization and seen carrying bolt cutters and a flashlight. When police made contact with Stubbs later and he advised that he was in-fact in the building with bolt cutters and a flashlight as he was looking for copper wire, but found none. He also advised that he fled after he realized he was being filmed on security cameras according to the complaint.
DUI:
Zebuliah Bartley, 49, of Wampum is charged with DUI after a crash occurring on April 14th at approximately 12:33p.m. Police were dispatched to Oswald Street for report of a crash involving Bartley and two passengers, one a minor. Officers made contact with Bartley and conducted an interview with him. Bartley stated that he had bought his vehicle for $300.00 and knew the axels in the vehicle were bad. He then advised the axels on the passenger side went out, causing him to wreck. Two passengers had left the scene and later returned the report relates. The 7-year-old passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Police observed Bartley to be heavily intoxicated while speaking with him, and was transported to a local hospital according to a criminal complaint.
CARELESS DRIVING:
Daniel Lagala, 38, of Ellwood City is charged with careless driving and drug possession after traffic stop occurring on April 30th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 2:10 a.m., Lagala was driving a motorcycle with a passenger and ignored several stop signs while driving at a high speed near Sheetz and made an abrupt turn on to Keystone Way. When officers initiated their lights and sirens, Lagala continued to evade officers and caused his passenger to fall from the bike on Thorn Way near Franklin Avenue. When officers finally made contact with Lagala later they seized cocaine and approximately $355.00 from his pocket according to the complaint.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT BY VEHICLE WHILE DUI:
Noah Lynd, 20, of Ellwood City is charged with careless driving, among other charges after a crash occurring on May 16th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Lawrence Ave on a report of a crash involving a 49-year-old female pedestrian. Officers were advised by witnesses that Lynd, returning from the Hog Wild Bar, hit the pedestrian going at a high rate of speed and continued without stopping to check on the victim. Lynd was later located after midnight at near the Ellwood City Police station where officers detected an odor of alcohol on Lynd when speaking with him and Lynd later refused to perform field sobriety tests. Lynd was then placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. The victim was sent to a nearby hospital in critical condition according to the complaint.
OBEDIENCE TO TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES:
Jaquese Wood, 19, of West Pittsburgh is charged with obedience to traffic control devices after traffic stop occurring on May 8th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:23p.m., police noticed Wood leave the Seven Eleven parking lot without his headlights on and make an evasive maneuver to enter the left turning lane to Wampum Ave. Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed Wood to be intoxicated according to the complaint.
DEATH UNDETERMINED:
James Mcintosh, 38, of New Galilee was struck by a train on May 19th at approximately 12:26 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene. According to a release report, Mcintosh was discovered laying on the tracks near Haggerty Road and Walnut Lane in New Beaver Boro, Lawrence County, as the train approached and activated it’s horn. Police were advised that the operator observed Mcintosh sit upright as the train was moving and was struck. The investigation is ongoing pending interviews with the train company and associates of Mcintosh.
CRASH:
Alexander Harold, 32, of New Castle suffered a seizure while driving on May 3rd at approximately 8:35 p.m. leading to a one vehicle accident on Ellwood Road. According to a release report, Harold was traveling on Ellwood Road when he suffered the seizure, causing him to veer outside of his lane and hit a pole. The vehicle rolled until it finally rested into a residential front yard.
