Carol L Miller, 85

Carol L Miller, 85, of Titusville Florida passed away on April 8, 2026. She was born in Ellwood City on February 7, 1941, to the late Alvis and Zelda Walker Laurain.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Lester J Miller. They were married on March 26, 1960, and he passed a few weeks before their 62nd anniversary in 2022. She was also preceded by her brother, Ronald Laurain and sister, Norma Weller.

Her three children and their spouses are left to mourn her passing: Leslie and James Pacer of Granbury, TX; Kenneth and Lisa (Gorman) Miller of Indianapolis, IN and Andrew Miller and Olivier Gigaud of Wiesbaden, Germany. Carol also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Valerie (Pacer) and her husband, Joshua Moles of Kirkland, WA along with their children, Eleanor (Ellie) and Liam; and Matthew Pacer and his wife, Kendra of Granbury, TX along with their children, Sebastian and Sawyer. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Laurain of New Wilmington, PA and several half and step siblings and cousins. While living in Florida she was blessed to have wonderful friends and neighbors. Her family appreciates everyone who was there for her, especially her dear friend, Janette Hernandez.

Carol was first and foremost, a devoted wife and mother. She was a caregiver for Lester in his last years and missed him every day. She worked for many years at Dom’s IGA, and a favorite story is that when her granddaughter was born, she announced it over the store PA system. After Lester’s retirement, he and Carol left Ellwood City for Florida, where they could enjoy the sunshine. They were lifelong motorcycle enthusiasts and spent countless hours on their motorcycle(s) until their seventies. In the last few years, Carol lived in a condo across the river from Kennedy Space Center and loved to sit on her balcony and watch the rocket launches. Her final launch watch was the recent Artemis II launch to the moon. She enjoyed watching and cheering on the Pirates and Steelers. She and her sister, Norma, were Steelers season ticket holders for many years and enjoyed attending the games together.

Arrangements have been made with Baldwin Brothers, 2400 S Washington Avenue, Titusville, FL. Per Carol’s wishes, there will be no services. In her final days, wonderful comfort and compassion were provided by St. Francis Hospice in Titusville. Memorials may be made online to that organization or to the Ellwood City Library in her name.
