Area Churches Requesting Community Support for FREE Christmas Day Dinner

You don’t have to be alone or hungry on Christmas.

First United Methodist Church and Wurtemburg United Methodist Church are starting to plan a FREE Christmas Day Dinner to be hosted by The Ellwood City Ministerium on Christmas Day.

The event aims to provide our neighbors with an opportunity for fellowship and a hot, sit-down meal on Christmas Day; at no cost to participants.

The dinner is schedule to be held December 25th from noon until 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 416 Crescent Avenue (across from Lincoln High School)

We are grateful for the remarkable outpouring of support we received last year and hope to continue building on that spirit of generosity. Whether you’re able to lend a helping hand, contribute ingredients, or simply share our message, your involvement makes a significant difference.

CHURCHES: Your generosity, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word – helps us bring hope and joy to those who may otherwise spend the holiday alone or without. Please announce the information from the pulpit along with placing posters where they would be best seen and in your church bulletin

BUSINESSES: Please display posters on your windows or doors. Also, donations to support this FREE Meal are appreciated. Your involvement, in any capacity, will help us create lasting memories and spread the true spirit of Christmas throughout our community.

VOLUNTEERS: Individuals interested in volunteering or donating may contact the Ellwood First UM church office at 724-758-6278. Please provide your name and number, and you will be contacted about current needs.

Suggestions:

  • Donate baked goods, meal components, turkeys
  • Bake turkeys at Ellwood First United Methodist Church (day before Christmas)
  • Prep food (day before Christmas)
  • Assist on Christmas Day: cook, serve, clean up,
  • Deliver meals to shut-ins.

Your kindness and participation are what makes this event truly meaningful. The more we come together, the greater impact we can make supporting those who may be in need or alone during the holiday season.
