The Riverside Panthers girls volleyball team knocked off rival Ellwood City 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at Riverside.
The Panthers swept the match with 25-16, 25-20, and 25-13 set victories.
Ellwood City falls to 0-3 on the season with its next match on the road versus Neshannock on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
ELLWOOD CITY GOLF SWEEPS
The Ellwood City girls and boys golf teams each collected victories Tuesday afternoon.
The boys golf team used a sub-40 round by Jordan Keller to defeat Shenango 200-230 at Delmar Golf Course. Keller fired a match-low round of 36 for the Wolverines while Jaxon Rozanski pitched in with a round of 40 in the victory. Nate Kennedy and Gino Biondi each collected rounds of 41 while Adam Jeffcost fired a round of 42 in the victory.
Ellwood City is now 10-1 overall and will face rival Riverside on Thursday at the Connoqunessing Country Club at 3:00 p.m.
The Lady Wolverines girls golf team also collected a victory Tuesday, defeating New Brighton 198-246 at DelMar Golf Course. Rori Minerd fired a match-low round of 43 for Ellwood City. Rylee Prestopine also found herself sub-50 with a round of 48 in the victory. Ellwood City (5-5 Overall) will next face Seton LaSalle at Delmar Golf Course on Wednesday.
EC GIRLS TENNIS DEFEATED BY LINCOLN PARK
The Ellwood City girls tennis team fell to South Park on Tuesday at the Ewing Park tennis courts.
Olivia Parson (6-4, 6-0) collected a singles match victory while the duo of Chloe DiCerbo & Jaiden Cress (5-7, 6-2, 6-6 7-5 TB) earned a double match victory for the Wolverines. Lincoln Park collectecd two singles victories and the second double victory to earn the 3-2 victory.
Ellwood City (0-3 Overall) next will travel to Central Valley for a match on Thursday set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
