Police: Ellwood Sexual Offender Fails to Register

Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender

An Ellwood City man was charged with failing to register as a sexual offender. According to the criminal complaint, Michael Paul Henry, 35, has not checked in with the state police Megan’s Law Registration Unit since March 10, 2016 and is required to do so once a month. Investigating officers checked Henry’s residence at 224 Lawrence Ave. and saw Henry through a window, but  the offender did not answer the door. On May 26, Henry was charged with failure to comply with registration of a sexual offender by Magistrate Jerry Cartwright.

Simple Assault at Wampum Bar

According to the criminal complaint, on May 6 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Michelle Lee Miller, 40, of Wampum, assaulted a patron at the Paramount Bar on 400 Beaver St. in Wampum. Miller attacked the defendant outside the building by grabbing her hair and pushed her head onto the ground. The defendant had a laceration on her back and required medical attention. Miller was charged with simple assault and harassment.

Bench Warrant

According to the criminal complaint, on May 17, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Wampum Avenue and identified the driver as Anthony Lee Cirelli, 26, of Ellwood City. Cirelli had an active bench warrant from Lawrence County. The investigating officer located two syringes, a silver spoon head and a red marijuana pipe on the defendant. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
