Clara Caravella, 96, of West Pittsburg passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born July 31, 1928, in Ellwood City, but grew up in Chewton, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Ruth Wiles Fosnaught. She married Joseph J. Caravella Sr. on February 14, 1947. They shared 68 years of marriage until his passing on November 19, 2015.
Clara graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She was Methodist by faith and for many years was a member of the Garden and Birthday Clubs in West Pittsburg. She enjoyed going to the casinos and cooking for her family. Her most cherished moments were spent with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Melonie) Caravella and Kenneth (Pam) Caravella both of West Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and two daughters-in-law, Glory Caravella of Austintown OH., and Merrilouise Caravella of Campbell OH.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Jr. and Rick Caravella; grandson, Joseph III, and two sisters, Linda Young and Phyllis Kirkham.
Per her request a private funeral service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Pastor Charlene Kennedy will officiate. Interment will be in Castleview Memorial Park.
