John T. Barr, 57, of Hardy, VA, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016. He bravely dealt with multiple sclerosis for eighteen years.
He was born in Ellwood City on April 11, 1959 to John Y. and Shirley Riney Barr, who survive. John T. graduated from Fort Hunt High School in Alexandria, VA, and James Madison Univesity in Virginia. He worked for C&P Telephone Company in Virginia and Maryland until becoming ill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sheryl (and Richard) Greiner of Huntington Beach, CA; three boys he loved dearly and called his sons: Jeremy Mitchell of VA, Joshua Mitchell of CO, and Jake Mitchell of Northern VA; as well as four nephews: John Houston, and Tom, Greg, and Qui Greiner, and a niece, Kelli Greiner, all of Huntington Beach, CA.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.
