Richard A. Lechner, 83

Richard A. Lechner, 83, of Shenango Twp passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a heart attack.

Born February 16, 1941 in Shenango Twp., he was the son of the late Theodore and Delpha Brandon Lechner. He was married to Wanda J. Dean Lechner for 61 years when she passed away on October 23, 2024.

Richard graduated from Shenango High School in 1959. He retired from McElwain Motor’s in Ellwood City after 43 years of employment as a service advisor. After his retirement he worked for Tractor Supply in New Castle. He was an active member of the Center Presbyterian Church, enjoyed working on his farm, and especially enjoyed mowing grass.

Survivors include his son, Gregg A. (Diane) Lechner of Ellwood City; daughter, Lauri L Lechner of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly, Erin, and Mason Lechner; two sisters-in-law, Carol Lechner of Taylor Twp and Helen Vanderveen of Hermitage; two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Linda) Dean of Slippery Rock Twp and Robert Wilson of New Castle; many cousins, nephews, and nieces and his beloved Golden Retriever, Millie.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Lechner and sister Edna Wolff.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 10, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the Center Presbyterian Church on January 11, 2025 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Randy Stringer officiating. Interment will follow in Center Church Cemetery.
