Brother and Sister Rob Laundromat
- A brother and sister were charged with stealing from a laundromat. According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 30, 2015, Desiree Elizabeth McQuiston, 28, of Beaver Falls and Joshua Raymond McQuiston, 29, of Fombell, stole money from vending machines and washing machines at Snowy White Laundry on Portersville Road in Ellport. Investigating officers watched security camera footage which showed a female and male enter the building around 11:30 p.m. The two proceeded to smash machines to steal the money until around midnight. An investigation identified the suspects as the McQuiston siblings. They were charged with two counts of criminal mischief and two counts of theft. They were arraigned before Magistrate Jerry Cartwright on May 10.
Marijuana and Prescription Pills
- According to the criminal complaint, on May 16, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Line Avenue due to a vehicle not using a turn signal. The driver was identified as Daniel Deante Bowlson, 26, of Warren, Mich. Due to a marijuana smell emanating from the car, officers searched the vehicle and found a prescription bottle containing 46 Acetaminophen pills and 34 Alprazolam pills. Bowlson was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance as well as two summary offenses for driving without functioning rear lights and driving while suspended.
Trespassing
- According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to the rear yard of a Sixth Street residence on May 10 in response to a reported break in. The suspect, Sean Michael McCallister, 24, of Pittsburgh, said he was there to pick up his stuff. A resident, McCallister’s ex-girlfriend, said he doesn’t have permission to be there. He was charged with loitering and prowling at night time, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
Using the smell of marijuana as probable cause to search vehicle is illegal. Did he find any MARIJUANA? Nope and I bet this case gets thrown out.
