Metro “Mickey” Stefura, 99

Metro “Mickey” Stefura, 99, of Koppel passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Lakeview Personal Care Home Darlington.

Born June 17, 1925 in Koppel, he was the son of the late John and Sophie Kwashicki Stefura. He married Ann Fidell Stefura on June 16, 1951. They were married for 49 years when she passed away on December 16, 2000.

Mickey attended Lincoln High School. A proud veteran, he served in the Army during WWII. He retired from B&W in Beaver Falls, worked at the Shippingport Power Plant, Brooks Construction, and did small engine repair from home and was known as the lawn mower man. He was a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, Ellwood City Saxon Club, and a lifelong member of the American Legion #0749.

Survivors include his daughter, Joyce (Dan) Dennison of Darlington; son, Frank (Brenda) Stefura of Ellwood City; three granddaughters, Katrina (Prabhu) Narahari, Britney (Shane) McCall, and Alexandra (Ryan) Rice; grandson, Anthony (Jody Welsh) Stefura; eight great-grandchildren; Ryan, Colton, Cody, Samuel, Addison, Madelyn, Kyle, and Levi; brother, Paul (Joyce) Stefura of Darlington; sister-in-law, Patty Stefura of Chewton, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife Ann, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Sophie Armstrong and Mary Stefura, and his four brothers, Peter, John, Walter, and Joseph Stefura.

Friends will be received on Saturday December 28, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:45 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Father Joseph Freedy will officiate. Military Rites will be observed by the Veteran’s Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
