#3 – CONNOQUENESSING FLOOD
Some great ariel shots of the mighty Connoquenessing River showing flood damages. In April, the NWS Pittsburgh reported a single-day total of 2.77″ of rain shattering a 90-year-mark and the Connoquenessing Creek reached recorded gage heights of 13.72 ft causing many nearby road closures.
#2 – TURNPIKE CONSTRUCTON DETOUR
In September, amid the ongoing construction of the new PA Turnpike bridge and exits at the the Beaver Valley Interchange, a off ramp closure and detour was announced. Construction is expected to be fully completed in September 2027.
#1 – MIRACULOUS RECOVERY
A miraculous recovery for a local 10-year-old girl after a tragic accident in July. Aubrey Bogacki was the sole survivor in a fatal crash on Ellwood Road in Slippery Rock Township near the intersection with Hogue Road.
