In September the club hosted a Basket Luncheon at the Moose Lodge with a Halloween theme.
“It was well attended with approximately 80 people in attendance and were treated to a lunch of sandwiches and various deserts,” says Campbell. “There were 84 regular baskets and 10 special prizes with an estimated value of $150 each and up.”
The Lions Club will be hosting a night at the races on November 30th at the Ellwood City Moose. This is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Cost will be $25.00, and tickets can be purchased thru any Riverside Lions member.
“All you Dear Hunting Weekend Widows, come on out and have a good time with your girlfriends and support a good cause,” says Campbell.
The club donated forty $10 gift certificates to any teacher who attended the Ellwood City Library Used Book Sale. This was brought back by popular demand.
“We donated sixteen $25 certificates last year, but since the books are so CHEAP it was decided to keep the donation the same but to cut back the amount and increase the numbers,” says Campbell.
Unfortunately, the club unknowingly ran out on Thursday due to the great response. PICTURED: Kendra Gagliano Lion Member and Library volunteer, Heather Baker Library Manager, Chip Campbell and trying her best to avoid the camera is Philis Conway Library volunteer.
