Doris Mae Jennings, 86, of Soap Run Rd., Fombell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Northview Estates.
Born March 18, 1930 in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Agnew Drushel. She was married for 63 years to John “Jack” Jennings as they were married on November 22, 1952. He survives.
Doris graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. She worked as a waitress at the former Kaufman House in Zelienople. She also had previously worked at the Glass Plant in Frisco and managed the J.S. Raub Shoe Store in the Franklin Plaza. She was an active member of the former Knox Presbyterian Church having served as an Elder and Deacon She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, Jack, survivors include a son, Barry (Maggie) Jennings of Fombell; daughter in law, Christine Jennings of Fombell; sister, Barbara (Donald) Nesbitt of Fombell; and four grandson, Charles (Kristen), Curtis, Kevin, and Matthew (Brianna) Jennings; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Jennings and Elizabeth Mae Jennings who was named after her.
She was preceded in death by a son Curtis in 2000, and a brother, Clair Drushel in 1954.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Andrew Shaffer and Rev. Elizabeth Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
