Susan E. Bennett, 94, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2024 at UPMC Jameson Hospital following a brief illness.
Born January 22, 1930 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth McCullough Hollinback. She was married to Guy J. Bennett for 44 years when he passed away on July 14, 2012.
Susan had graduated from Lincoln High School. For many years, she worked at Medusa in Wampum as a secretary. Susan was a member of the former St. Monica’s Church in Wampum where she was a member of the Rosary Guild and was a current member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church where she belonged to the Christian Mother’s. She served her community for many years as a member of the Wampum Women’s Club and as a Cub Scout Leader in Wampum.
She is survived by her son, Dr. David Guy Bennett Esq. and his wife Kimberly Law Bennett Esq. of Macungie PA; grandson, Ryan Bennett; granddaughter, Sydney Bennett, and sister-in-law Eleanor Bennett.
In addition to her parents and husband Guy, she was preceded in death by her brother Lawrence Hollinback; four brothers-in-law, Francis L, Silvio Jr., and Ralph Bennett, and Joseph Arcieri and three sisters-in-law, Theresa and Jane Bennett, and Lucille Arcieri.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 16, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:45 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joseph Freedy officiating.
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
