Riverside opened up its regular season Friday night, but the Panthers fell at home to South Side by a score of 35-7.
After a 12-yard touchdown run by Brady Newman tied the game in the second quarter, the visiting Beavers scored 28 unanswered points to secure the road victory.
Robbie Janis led the Panthers with 96 yards rushing on 12 carries, while Ryan Theadore collected 49 yards passing in defeat. Zach Hare hauled in a team-high four receptions for 34 yards for Riverside.
The Panthers (0-1 Overall) next travels to Shenango on Friday for a non-conference tilt.
