POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CARELESS DRIVING, ELUDING POLICE:
Three New Castle individuals are charged after fleeing from police on roadways in Ellwood City on October 30. According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 1:41 a.m, police observed three side-by-side ATV utility vehicles at the intersection of Wampum Avenue and North Street playing music very loudly and revving the engines. As police exited the parking lot of 7-Eleven all three vehicles fled the area and police continued pursuit. The side-by-side vehicles all failed to top for officers as they continued on State Route 65 into North Sewickley Township. The three defendants, James Cowher, 19, Michael Bonner, 19, and Nicholas Jacobs, 20, are all charged with Fleeing to elude Police, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and Unlawful Operation On Streets.

CARELESS DRIVING, ELUDING POLICE:
Raymond Miller, 25, of Ellwood City, is charged with Careless Driving, Eluding Police, Driving With Suspended License after a traffic stop last month. According to the criminal complaint, on November 18 at approximately 12:34 a.m., Miller was observed driving an unregistered Baja 200cc mini-motorcycle on North Street, in Ellwood City, after exiting the parking lot of Weisz Hazel Manor. The mini-motorcycle had no front headlamp, no rear taillights, turning signals or mirrors and Miller failed to stop or yield to attempts for police to conduct a traffic stop. After police pursuit, Miller attempted to make a turn onto North Street and the mini-motorcycle slide out from underneath him, ending up in the middle of North Street. Miller was immediately taken into custody after he refused to submit to a series of field sobriety tests. After Miller was transported to ECPD he later passed the field sobriety tests and was released.

DRUG POSSESSION:
Jason Fotia, 35, of Ellwood City is charged with Possession of Controlled Substance after an incident in May 2021. According to the criminal complaint, police received a call for a domestic at a residence on Wampum Avenue. Upon responding police found Fotia in an physical altercation with his father. Police later found a box of pills in a floor board belonging to Fotia and seized the pills and cleared the scene.

DRUG POSSESSION:
Jeremy Kinney, 41, of New Galilee, is charged with Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearms w/o License, Theft, and Receiving Stolen Property after an incident in November 20. According to the criminal complaint, police located a black Honda RidgeLine in the parking lot of Weisz Hazel Manor and detected a strong odor of marijuana in the parking lot. Police approached the vehicle, identified Kinney, and observed a marijuana grinder, pipe and scale in the center of the vehicle along with suspected bags of cocaine in plain view. Police seized all items. Kinney was detained, searched further, and later released. The search warrant later discovered 7.65 grams of cocaine and a stolen 9mm handgun.

ASSAULT/HARRASSMENT:
Jeremy Streckeisen, 20, and Logan Schilling, 19, both of Ellwood City, are each charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident on November 18th. According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 10:12 a.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on Division Avenue for a domestic in progress. Police were directed to the downstairs residence in response to a female victim screaming. Upon forced entry police found Streckeisen standing over top of Schilling. Streckeisen had scratches and redness around his neck and chin area and Schilling had redness and scratches to her chin and a bloody lip. Both parties refused to tell officers what happened and both were placed into custody.

DUI:
Michelle Agnello, 27, of Wampum, is charged with DUI and Careless Driving after a traffic stop on October 10th. According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 11:33 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a drug overdose in New Beaver Boro, Lawrence County. Upon arriving it was determined that Agnello fell unresponsive after an overdose and her mother was finally able to awaken her but after learning of the emergency call placed, Agnello left the house and fled in her vehicle. Agnello was later found at her father’s residence in New Beaver Boro and was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to a nearby hospital for a blood draw.
