Glenda K. Nicklas, 65, of Short St, Ellwood City died Monday, Feb. 22 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a 30 year courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born April 25, 1950 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Glenn Brown and Elva Vogler Brown of Ellwood City, formerly of Castlewood.
Glenda graduated from Shenango High School in 1968. She was the manager at T&M True Value Hardware Store in Ellwood for many years. She was an active member of the Lillyville Church of God. She will be remembered for her hand made greeting cards commemorating her loved ones special occasions. She enjoyed scrap booking and gardening. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren, Jacob, Paige and Easton.
In addition to her mother, Elva, survivors include a son, Glenn (Robyn) Nicklas of Ellwood City; son in law, David Alters of Fombell; two sisters, Dorothy Jean (Ed) Moyer of Castlewood, Dianna Brenneman of Neshannock; two brothers, Jim (Marge) Brown of Ellwood City, Bill (Anita) Brown of St. Petersburg, Florida; and three grandchildren, Jacob Alters, Paige Alters and Easton Nicklas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Brown, and a daughter Kelly D. Alters.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received on Friday at Lillyville Church of God from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. Pastor Dennis Arndt will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
