Leland Wayne Marshall, 75, of Perry Township passed away on September 4, 2021 at the UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
Born on March 20, 1946 in Ellwood City, he was a lifelong resident of Perry Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray S. and Priscilla Wasson Marshall and a sister-in-law, Loretta Marshall.
Lee is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Newton Marshall; a son, Mark (Deborah); a daughter, Jodi (James) Rock; seven Grandchildren: Heather, Joshua, Garrett and Logan Marshall; Arianna, Ethan and Hunter Rock; and two Great-Grandsons: Cooper and Tucker Rock.
He is also survived by his siblings: John Marshall of Perry Township, Curtis (Ruth) Marshall of Sebring, Ohio and Nancy (Hubert) Tolman of Dubach, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews.
A 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School, Lee worked as a farmer and truck driver hauling various types of freight for several companies throughout his career. He spent his retirement farming and working on equipment. He also enjoyed working alongside his grandsons in the family garden and in the farm shop.
He held the position of Perry Township Supervisor, was a member of the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church, the Pleasant Hill Grange and the Wurtemburg Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Lee was a Veteran of the US Army, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. Providing equipment maintenance, he was assigned to Company C, 7th Engineer Battalion Fifth and served as a General Vehicle Repairman throughout his enlistment.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Avenue, Ellwood City, PA. Pastor Dana Opp, from the Portersville Presbyterian Church, will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, also to be held at the Marshall Funeral Home in Ellwood City. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Perry Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church, Ellwood City or the Wurtemburg-Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department, Ellwood City.
