Drug Sweep Arrests Three in Ellwood City Area

The Lawrence County District Attorney Drug Task Force arrested nine people Monday and Tuesday in a countywide drug sweep, including three in the Ellwood City area.

Heroine Dealing
The Drug Task Force arrested two people for heroin dealing following an incident on Oct. 15.

According to the criminal complaint filed on Jan. 22, Amanda Hasan, 25, of Ellwood City, and Timothy Wilkes, 27, of New Castle, were caught after attempting to sell heroin to an informant in a pre-planned operation.

On Oct. 15 at approximately 10:40 p.m., the informant met with Wilkes on 13th Street and purchased .4 grams of heroin for $80. Wilkes was then seen entering Hassan’s residence. Investigators were aware of reports that Hasan was involved in selling heroin in Ellwood City, but the sources were not revealed in the criminal complaint.

Wilkes was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Hasan was charged with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a facility and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance.

After arraignment, Hasan was placed in Lawrence County Jail on $25,000 bail and Wilkes was jailed on $50,000 bail.

Oxycodone Dealing
The Drug Task Force also arrested one person for oxycodone dealing following an incident on Jan. 6

According to the criminal complaint, Daniel Kirkpatrick, 34, of Darlington, sold 12 suspected Roxycodone tablets to an informant at a home off of State Route 168 in New Galilee.

Kirkpatrick was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. After arraignment, he was placed in the Lawrence County Jail on $50,000.
