For the tenth year in a row, the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Chef, Wine & Ale Event.
This annual event features gourmet foods from at least fifteen local restaurants paired with wines from around the world. There will also be craft beers, a martini bar, gourmet coffees, and an array of desserts offered at the event scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 at Shakespeare’s Restaurant & Pub, 1495 Mercer Road, Ellwood City, PA.
T“We are very grateful to our many sponsors, particularly this year’s Platinum Sponsor, WesBanco, who is continuing to support the events previously supported by ESB Bank,” the Chamber of Commerce notes. “We’re grateful that WesBanco is so generous to our community. We’d also like to thank our Gold Level Sponsors, EGI/ECF, INMETCO and Seubert & Associates. This year we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of many of our members and friends of the Chamber who have become Silver Level Sponsors, including NALCO, T & M Hardware, Wampum Underground, Marshall Funeral Home, Lutz & Myers, Preferred Properties, Evergreen Developers, Edward Jones/Tyson Smith, Ron Lewis Ford Chevrolet Kia, Marshall Tree Service, Ronin Advertising Ellwood Animal Hospital, Car Wash of Ellwood City, Good Wheels, PNC, Beth Hazen Insurance Agency and Quality Home Energy. Without the generous support of our sponsors, Chef, Wine & Ale wouldn’t be the successful event that it has been for a decade.”
“This is our biggest and most popular fundraising event each year,” Dale Thomson, Chairman of this year’s Committee, explains. “Last year over 300 guests enjoyed food and wine from some of the area’s finest restaurants while browsing the Silent Auction tables. The auction is the highlight of the evening because so many businesses generously donate beautiful prizes, gift baskets and event tickets that can be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. We’ll have everything from stunning diamond and gemstone jewelry to autographed sports memorabilia. Hand crafted items and tickets for sporting events, the theater and more mean that there is something for everyone. Guests can bid on as many items as they like, so it’s a great opportunity to get a truly luxurious gift for someone special while helping the Chamber and our community.”
“We also have a few very special raffles this year,” Thomas continues. “Every year one of our member jewelry stores donates a beautiful piece of fine jewelry that is given away in a raffle drawing that evening. This year, Blocher’s Jewelers has given us a lovely diamond ring valued at $2,500. There will be only 100 raffle tickets sold at $20 each at Chef, Wine & Ale. At the end of the night, someone will take that beautiful ring home. There is also a 50/50 raffle and a raffle for an Orlando Get-Away condominium vacation, so there are multiple ways to walk home with a beautiful prize.”
The Orlando vacation includes a week’s stay at the Grand Beach Resort, within easy reach of Sea World®, Walt Disney World®, Universal Studios®, Gator World, countless outlet malls, luxurious golf courses and much more. The package includes a three bedroom, three bathroom condominium with a balcony, all the amenities and a fully equipped kitchen.
A professional Emcee keeps things lively, and Shakespeare’s spacious banquet hall is the perfect backdrop for this year’s Chef, Wine & Ale Event.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can contact the Chamber of Commerce at 724-758-5501 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and can also be purchased from any of the Chamber of Commerce Directors. The tickets are $50 each purchased in advance and $65 each if purchased the day of the event. Anyone interested in taking a look at the diamond ring can see it at Blocher’s Jewelers, 283 State Route 288, Franklin Plaza, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
