Lois V. Pacillo, 73, of Bessemer, formerly of New Galilee passed away Thursday, Jan. 21 at UPMC Mercy Hospital following a short illness.
Born Aug. 10, 1942 in New Galilee, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ruth E. McKim Baker. She was married for 33 years to the late John R. Pacillo who passed away March 18, 1997.
Lois retired from the Mohawk Area School District in 2008, having worked for 30 years, retiring as the Business Manager. She was also the secretary of the school board for many years. She was a lifelong active member of the Galilean Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, member and secretary of the Board of Deacons, organist, choir director, young adult Sunday School teacher, Chairperson of the Wednesday Faith Night and also served on the worship committee. She was the representative to the Beaver-Butler Presbytery where she served on the financial planning committee. Lois served on the Board of Directors of the Darlington Food Pantry. She also was the director and sang with “Singing Friends” and with the “Harmonaires”. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her brother, Dale W. (Dorothy) Baker of Bessemer and several nieces, nephews, and close cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and David Baker, and a sister, Jane Marich.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street, Wampum.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with her Pastor, Rev C.F. Hoffman officiating.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
