Bruce E. Shidemantle, 59, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Jan. 21, 2016 in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following a brief illness.
He was born in Ellwood City on Aug. 10, 1956 to the late Arthur Mervin Shidemantle, Sr., and Barbara Joanna Boak Scheidemantle, of Portersville, who survives. Bruce graduated from Riverside High School in the class of 1974 and was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for Kerry Coal Company for many years. He enjoyed hunting and was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters: Kristen Shidemantle of Portersville and Stacie (and Brandon) Grenet of Butler. He is also survived by two brothers, Arthur Shidemantle, Jr. of New Brighton and Timothy Shidemantle of Ellwood City, a stepbrother, Martin Scheidemantle of Portersville, a stepsister, Cindy Scheidemantle of Portersville, his niece, Christine (and Ross) Haney, and great nephew, Skylar Haney.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 in the Turner Funeral Home of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.
Interment will be in Portersville Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Bruce’s name, to the donor’s favorite charity.
