PA Chamber Announces ‘Bringing PA Back’ Initiative

As the Commonwealth works to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, the PA Chamber is taking the lead on helping businesses re-open their facilities safely and jumpstart the economy through a new initiative, “Bringing PA Back.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth an unprecedented time in our state’s history,” said PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr. “We now must focus on our next phase: re-opening businesses and determining what bringing Pennsylvania’s economy back will look like – an issue that we have spent the last several weeks meeting about with local chambers, statewide business and local government groups. We are dedicated to working on behalf of the Commonwealth’s business leaders as we look to restore a sense of normalcy both in our economy and our way of life, and move forward in a safe and productive way. Our rich history shows we are a people who can rise to any challenge, and our organization stands ready to work with elected officials, public health experts and employers on implementing a workable process to get back to business in a responsible way. We are ‘Bringing PA Back’.”

The core focus of this initiative will be to provide employers with critical information as they prepare to re-open. This includes guidance on workplace readiness – such as cleaning and safety standards; employment opportunities; best practices from those businesses that have continued operations throughout the crisis; and policy recommendations that will help to revive Pennsylvania’s economy. This information will all be housed on an interactive, user-friendly website. As the ‘Statewide Voice of BusinessTM,’ the PA Chamber will be advising elected officials on how best to proceed.

The “Bringing PA Back” initiative will kick off with a webinar next week to solicit feedback from leaders across Pennsylvania’s broad-based business community regarding the specific economic needs in their communities.

The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd beginning at 11:00am and is scheduled for one hour.
