Pearl E. McConnell, 82, of Old Rt. 18, New Beaver Boro passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at UPMC Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.
Born May 3, 1933 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Ida M. Smith Brommer. She was married for 62 years to Harold R. McConnell who survives. They were married Aug. 7, 1953
Pearl worked with her husband, Harold for 47 years in McConnell Tax Service. She had previously worked at Reliable Luggage in West Pittsburgh. Pearl enjoyed playing the lottery and trips to the casino. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Her most cherished time was spent with her grand and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harold, survivors include a daughter, Glenda L. (Edward Daley) Schotsch; two grandchildren, Michele (Michael ) Blake, David L. (Kelly) Schotsch Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Grace and Delanie Blake, and Kurtis and Allison Schotsch.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis I. McConahy, and three brothers, Samuel W. and Ralph I “Carbite” Brommer, and George Brommer in infancy, son in law, David L. Schotsch Sr. and a grandson, Michael D. Schotsch.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday Jan. 15, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Rev. James Hockenberry, Retired Pastor at Harmony Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
