Ted B. Householder, 92, of Fombell passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Northview Estates.
Ted was born August 5, 1927 in Ellwood City, to the late Vincent and Mollie Treece Householder. He married the former Sally Lou Gillespie Householder June 30, 1950 and was married for 66 years prior to her death in 2017.
Ted attended Lincoln High School and was first employed at U.S. Steel in Ellwood prior to his enlistment as a U.S. Marine during World War II. He worked as a fitter at Aetna-Standard (Blaw-Knox) for nearly forty years until the Ellwood operation closed. Farming always came first to Ted as he continued raising beef cattle on a small farm in Fombell for another few years before fully retiring. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Robert Prosper) DiFrischia, Sue (James) Reed, and Julie Nocera; daughter-in-law, Jody Householder, all of Fombell. 9 grandchildren; Bo (Melissa) Williams, Kari (Dave) Bender, Jamie (Evan) Miller, Andy (Nicole) Reed, Joshua Reed, Tyler DiFrischia, Ashleigh (Brad Nogee) Householder, Stephanie (Jared Mley) Householder, Thadeus (Kirsten Wilson) Nocera; 8 great grandchildren, Julia (Greg) Sublett, Jax and Avalee Bender, Nash, Silas, and Reed Miller, Jackson and Rowan Reed; One great-great grandson, Joseph Sublett.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Jon D. Householder, and sons-in-laws, Dave Nocera and Tim DiFrischia; two sisters, Ruth and Fae Householder.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 1, from 4pm till the time of the Memorial Service at 6pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City with Rev. Angelique Bradford officiating. Military Rites will be presented by the Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church or donors favorite charity.
