DUI Passenger Threatens to Call Mayor

• According to the criminal complaint, Larry Anthony, 60, of Ellwood City, was charged with a DUI and failure to stop at a stop sign. The incident occurred on Dec. 20 around 12:45 a.m. when an officer observed a vehicle run a stop sign. Although Anthony’s passenger verbally scolded the investigating officer and threatened to call the mayor, it was to no avail.

DUI

• According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 27 at approximately 1 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle on Lawrence Avenue traveling without its headlights on. The officer pulled over the vehicle and identified the driver as Roger Williams, 35, of Ellwood City. Williams admitted he had consumed “two to three beers over three hours” and was taken to the Ellwood City Hospital for blood testing. Williams was charged with two counts of DUI and driving without headlights during required period.

Bad Checks

• According to the criminal complaint, David Robertson, 34, of Ellwood City, gave three bad checks to the Wayne Twp. Fire Department on Nov. 10 for a total amount of $205. According to Robertson’s bank, Robertson received notification prior to writing the checks that his account had no money. Robertson was charged with bad checks and theft by deception. Robertson had recently been charged for bad checks written to Pete’s Beer Distributor and for stealing and selling property belonging to his landlord.
