John D. Yoho, 86, of Ellwood Road (Wayne Twp.) died on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1929 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John E. and Irene Houk Yoho. He was married for 65 years to Norma Weingartner Yoho who survives.
John retired from Jewel Tea Company where he was a truck driver. He was an active member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church having served as an Elder, former Deacon, and he also served on the Cemetery Board. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge # 599 and was a Veteran of the US Army serving from 1946-1949. John had many hobbies, including making stained glass, golfing, and buying and renovating wheel horses tractors.
In addition to his wife, Norma, survivors include two daughters, Sharon Frickanish and Patti Bintrim, both of Wayne Twp.; son, John (Colleen) Yoho of Portersville ;four sisters, Jean Spears of New Castle, LeAnn Roth of Alabama, Sally Swaney of Tennessee, Susan Colella of Michigan; brother, Ray Yoho of Wayne Twp.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Dymond, Kiley (Josh) Cauvel, Ryan (Allison) Frickanish, Justin Bintrim, Ashley (Griffith) Tran; and nine great-grandchildren, Alexa, Maria, Sofia, Taylor, Ben, Gracie, Juliet, Piper, and Maile.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Neil Yoho.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon.
Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
