Valerie R. Shablesky, 56, of Summit Ave., Ellwood City passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at her residence following a two year illness.
Born April 17, 1959 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Raymond “Corky” and Janna Shaffer Hulick. She was married for 12 years to Mark Shablesky who survives.
Val graduated from Riverside High School. She worked at Co Part as a dispatcher for 15 years. Val enjoyed flower gardening, relaxing at the beach, and sitting outside on her back porch. She was a Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan. Her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and her granddog “Zoey”.
In addition to her husband, Mark, survivors include daughter, Erin (Richard Cureton) Book of Beaver Falls; son, Zachery Book of Ellwood City; four step-children, Nick, John, Jeremy, and Tabitha; brother, Jerry (Lori) Hulick of Ellwood City; sister, Rhonda (Ken) Fogel of Beaver Falls; and two grandchildren, Rickey and Ashton.
She was preceded in death by sister, Jamie in infancy.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Charles officiating.
Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
