Penn State Cooperative Extension Offers ServSafe Food Safety Certification

NEW CASTLE, PA – According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, licensed food establishments must have all persons in charge successfully complete a food safety training class.

Completing the necessary training and passing the associated exam brings licensed food establishments into compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) Food Employee Certification Act.

To help food establishments meet this requirement, Penn State Extension is offering a Food Safety Training Course.

The course will be held at the New Castle Public Library, located at 207 E. North Street, New Castle, PA 16101 from 9AM-4PM on November 8 and 15, 2018. The examination will be held on November 15 at 12:00 PM. The course fee of $185 per person covers the cost of the ServSafe® course book, food handler guide, instructional materials and digital food thermometer.

Pre-registration is required. Register online with any major credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express) here. If you do not have internet access, call toll free at 1-877-345-0691, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. You may pay with a credit card or mail your check made payable to “Penn State” to: ATTN: ServSafe, Penn State University, 323 Ag Administration Building, University Park, PA 16802.
